Sherman entered human services with a mission to assist individuals in the justice system, motivated by witnessing friends experience similar challenges. Starting as a prison counselor, he dedicated himself to guiding incarcerated individuals toward rehabilitation. As he transitioned to an Adult Probation and Parole Officer, Sherman recognized the correlation between mental health struggles and criminal behavior, prompting him to prioritize prevention and stability. This shift marked a pivotal moment in his impactful career trajectory. As an entrepreneur at heart, Sherman embarked on a journey to create impactful businesses while championing rehabilitation and justice reform. Through ventures like New Hope Support Services, LLC (NHSS) and Omega Residential Services LLC, he has provided vital support and services to thousands, reinforcing his dedication to mental health and societal reintegration. NHSS, a mental health agency spanning multiple states, has been instrumental in assisting numerous individuals in accessing mental health services. Omega Residential Services has been a beacon of hope for formerly incarcerated individuals, embodying Sherman’s passion for reentry and rehabilitation. Sherman’s commitment to public service extends beyond business, as evidenced by his leadership as the National President of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice. With a storied 50-year history, Sherman’s mission within the organization is to improve the criminal justice system and advocate for equal justice for all. Throughout his career, Sherman has received numerous awards for his business and civic efforts, recognizing his dedication to creating positive change in both the private and public sectors.
